Support our work to preserve and share Congregational history.
A gift to the Congregational Library & Archives supports the ongoing interpretation and preservation of the Congregational story. With over 400 years of history to curate, your gift allows the library to
- build on the strengths of our collection by acquiring new items;
- present in-person, hybrid, and virtual programs to several thousand viewers annually on topics ranging from church archive stewardship to the Salem witch trials;
- preserve our landmark location and magnificent historic reading room; and,
- welcome scholars and researchers to explore our collection and add to our understanding of the Congregational story.

Preserve, Amplify, & Inspire Annual Appeal.
We invite you to join us as we embark on a new chapter. Inspired by our recent adoption of a new strategic plan, this year’s Annual Appeal builds off our updated mission, vision, and core belief statements.
We invite you to support our work as we:
- Strive to make our library materials and programs accessible to people around the world through online exhibitions, virtual programs, and educational resources to all for free!
- Support research through fellowships and internships to forward interpretation and dissemination of the importance of our world-class collections.
- Collect strategically to expand our print, manuscript, and digital holdings, which document and contextualize the impact of Congregationalism on society and the nation past, present, and future.
- Further our commitment to find and share histories about diverse peoples and expand our opportunities to preserve, interpret, and present narratives from across the 400+ year Congregational story.
- Examine the Congregational faith tradition and its impacts through engaging in-person and virtual programming and exhibitions, such as Religion of Revolution: Congregational Voices on Liberty and Sacred Rebellion: Congregationalists in Revolutionary Massachusetts.
As we prepare to live out our mission through this five-year strategic plan, your contribution to the Preserve, Amplify, & Inspire Annual Appeal will help us to continue to evidence that Congregational history matters.
